In a live show on international news channel TRT World, I explained the functioning of arrest warrants of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and their potential diplomatic and legal implications.
The ICC today decided to issue arrest warrants against the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former minister of defense Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leader Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri (Deif).
Even though the arrest warrants might not be enforced in the short term, they could have diplomatic implications and limit their possibilities to travel. On TRT World, I highlighted that ICC arrest warrants generally limits the possibilities for individuals to travel.
I explained that international reactions – strong support from some, heavy rejection from others – are reflective of the different views on the Gaza conflict, and by extension the ICC’s decision.
